This is what a boy looks like the morning of his LAST day of Kindergarten. He was sound asleep. The boy was snoring a bit. Probably mostly due to his stuffy nose. Check out those lips!
This is what he looks like after his face has been smooched, he turns over, taking that right hand by his mouth and tucking it beneath that chin. He no longer sucks that thumb. Jack's baby, cheetah, and new wolverine (under the covers right there in the front) are close by him. Check out those lips again!
This is what he looks like when I turned Wild Kratts on in his room. Oh, yeah, Jack has a tv in his room now, since he stopped sucking his thumb. At least his eyes opened. I was worried about that today! We have had a few late baseball nights lately!
Then that morning attitude comes out. If you look closely, he was crying/whining since he didn't want his picture taken. Ha. So, he bent down so I couldn't get him.
But, whew, we made it down stairs and he 'ordered' oatmeal to go with his orange juice. Jack returned to being a sweet boy again.
And to snag our normal shots...
Here he was on the first day of Kindergarten.
And I couldn't believe how big he was in this one on the first one.
Which bring us to the question: Where is our time going?!
I have to remember to keep it real. Be in the moment. Love my boy each second I can.
Today marks the last day he will have a school bag. From here on out, Jack will have a book bag. He also gets a locker in first grade.
So there my boy is, buckled in the back seat sitting on his booster. Ready for his Daddy to take him to morning drop off.
Am I sad it is the last day of Kindergarten? No. Not one bit. If there is one thing that is NOT a secret, it is that I love my boy home with me. What amazes me is that the six years of his life so far are flashing before my eyes. I don't necessarily want time to slow down, for if it is flying, we are
having fun!
I just want to remember on Jack's last day of Kindergarten, he writes, he reads, he adds, he subtracts, he tells time to the hour and half hour, he knows fractions, he sings when he goes to the bathroom, he much prefers a bath to a shower, he feeds our dog, he loves to be snuggled with, he
knows everything, he doesn't
need to be shown how to do anything, he needs sleep, he needs food cooked at home, he holds my hand when we are in a parking lot, he loves his shoes tight, he likes to wear underware under his 'cup,' he goes to the pantry or frige to help himself if he is hungry, he loves bubble gum, he loves to pick things up off the ground and keep them. He is just a sweet boy.
