This year, 9-11 fell on a Sunday. I was glued to the television all over again. I was just overwhelmed by the new memorial. Beautiful. Simply amazing. What got me were the kids that never really knew their parent(s). I just continued looking at my Jack that whole morning. A boy without his mother. Terrible thoughts invaded my mind.
Jack's school all gathered Monday morning in the gym for the Pledge of Allegiance, National Songs, and a Moment of Silence. They were all asked to wear red, white, and blue.
Kennesaw Mountain had an overwhelming display in remembrance of those who lost their life during that tragic day. After school, Jack and I stopped by to look for ourselves.
A lot has happened in the past ten years. I vividly remember sitting with my first little angels of a class in a reading group. Now I have this one little guy and 'protection' doesn't seem like enough sometimes.
